C.D. CATTANEO DINO was established as a craft enterprise in 1973 by Dino Cattaneo after years of working in a lathe shop in the province of Brescia and after some training experience in technical courses in Switzerland, the home of watchmaking and small precision mechanical components.

Work in the early years consisted of mass production of small turned components, including electroplating. Later, the purchase of automatic milling machines, a multi-station rotary transfer machine, and grinding machines enabled the production of more complex and precise parts.

In 1991, Dino embarked on a partnership with the company Europe snc for the production of measuring instruments. The experience ceased with the arrival of the same products sold by Chinese exporters, which reduces sales volumes, especially in European markets where the brand had become known and appreciated.

In terms of staffing, the company also grew and evolved. In 1999, Dino's first son, Michele Cattaneo, an industrial expert graduate, joined the company, dedicating himself to numerical control machines and coordinating the department, which, over time, continued to be enriched with numerical control lathes with automatic loaders. 2011, on the other hand, saw Marco Cattaneo, Dino's youngest son, join the company after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in transfer machine design. They brought innovation and modernity to the company, qualities that complemented Dino Cattaneo's 40 years of experience. In 2017, the two sons established Cattamec srl, a technical consulting company that cooperates with Cattaneo Dino to offer a complete service to customers and meet increasingly peculiar market needs. With a view to continuous improvement, in 2019 they tackled the purchase of a ZEISS measuring machine, and in 2024 they embarked on the path to ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Family management is another element that distinguishes the company Cattaneo Dino in terms of reliability and soundness; in order to ensure business continuity in the years to come, the company merged into C.D. CATTANEO DINO SRL in 2024.
